How do I create a Youtube channel?

In this article, we'll explain step-by-step how to create your own Youtube channel to host all your videos and share them on the ECAM Alumni "promotion / region / passion / profession" group page you're hosting.

STEP¹: CONNECT TO GOOGLE

The first step is to log in to your Google account. To do this, click on the Log in button in the top right-hand corner of Youtube.

STEP²: CREATE A CHAIN

Once you've logged in, you'll be able to create your Youtube channel. Click on your profile and then on the Create a channel button.

A new window will open with two options for creating your channel. Choose the Use custom name option to communicate on behalf of your ECAM Alumni "promotion / region / passion / profession" group. Then give your channel a name and check the box "I understand I'm creating a Google account (...)", then click on the Create button.

STEP³: SET UP YOUR CHANNEL

This step allows you to configure your channel. To do this, import an image to serve as your profile photo, add a description to your Youtube channel, and add links to your social networks and more...

Your channel is now up and running on Youtube! You can now customize it by clicking on Customize channel.

You'll be able to add a cover image (in the Branding section) and add a watermark automatically to your videos.

You can also add sections, select videos to highlight to your subscribers... in the Layout section, or modify your page's public url in the General information section.

IT'S TIME TO ADD YOUR FIRST VIDEO!

This step is very simple. Youtube accepts many video formats:

.MOV
.MPEG4
.MP4
.AVI
.WMV
.MPEGPS
.FLV
3GPP
WebM
DNxHR
ProRes
CineForm
HEVC (h265)

Once you've created your video in one of the formats listed above, be sure to export it in 720p or 1080p for the best resolution!

Then click on Upload a video and drag and drop your file .

Get the video's url so you can embed it directly on your social networks!

Now all you have to do is contact your Association to update your group with the link to your channel and review the old tree structure of your page 😀🧐
